Deckstack

Terms of Use

Last updated: [date]

1. Agreement

Deckstack (“the app”) is provided by [Developer name or company] (“the developer”, “we”). By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. What Deckstack is

Deckstack is a self-study tool for practising communication strategies. It presents written examples of things people might say in various situations, for you to rehearse. It is a training aid and nothing more.

3. What Deckstack is not

Deckstack is not therapy, counselling, coaching, medical care, legal advice, or professional advice of any kind. It does not diagnose, treat or assess anyone. The examples in the app are illustrations, not instructions, and they are not tailored to you, to the people you speak to, or to your situation. If you are dealing with distress, a mental health condition, abuse, or a conflict with serious consequences, please speak to a qualified professional.

4. Your responsibility

You decide what to say and when. You are solely responsible for how you use anything you learn in the app, and for the consequences of your own words and actions. What works in one conversation may be wrong in another, and only you can judge your own situation.

5. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, publish or create derivative works from the app’s content, or use it to build a competing product, without written permission. All content, text and design in the app remain our property or that of our licensors.

6. Purchases, subscriptions and lifetime access

Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store, under Apple’s own terms.

7. No warranty, and limits on liability

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its content will be suitable for any particular conversation or relationship.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, opportunity, income, reputation, or relationship, arising from your use of the app — including any outcome of a conversation in which you used, or chose not to use, something the app taught you. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under mandatory consumer protection law, including your statutory rights as a consumer in the EU and the EEA.

8. Your data

Deckstack stores your data locally on your device. See the Privacy Policy for details. Because there is no account and no server, we cannot restore data you lose — use the Export function in Settings to keep your own backup.

9. Changes and availability

We may update, change or discontinue the app or any part of it. We may update these terms; the current version is always available on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may end your licence if you breach these terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Swedish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence, and you may bring a claim in the courts there.
